Organization teaching tip - ESL Teacher Freda Glatt Lesson
By:Freda J. Glatt, MS

At this time of year, teachers are wondering where their summer went! Nevertheless, you are gearing up for another school year. Prepare by getting organized from the inside out.

To me, August 1 always signaled the beginning of getting psyched up, practicing sleeping for so many hours, and practicing getting up earlier and earlier.

I started developing special projects for my class that would go along with the
curriculum.

If I needed supplies, I went shopping BEFORE returning to work, thereby avoiding all those extremely long lines at the checkout counter.

When I returned to school, I knew that I needed to be organized from the inside out because there would be no time to catch up later. My desk, cabinets, and shelves were organized before bulletin boards went up so I would know where everything was. By working late and on Saturday, everything managed to get done!

Wherever you are, and whatever your responsibilities may be, I wish you a rewarding, productive year!

And remember...Reading is FUNdamental!
