How about a lesson about all the crazy stuff in English - Short Lesson

2. The insane number of confusing homonyms, such as its/it's, your/you're, there/they're/their, and so on....
3. Have them write a letter to the president, or to a newspaper editor, or write a love letter, or write some other sort of letter to another person of their choice.
4. Play Scrabble.
