Making Student Presentations Fun
By:Ontesol <info@ontesol.com>

English is the global language of business, but it is also the language of Hollywood and Shakespeare! So learning English can be fun. Have you ever bored your students to tears by making them recite a story that they memorized or read from a scratchy paper? Presentations can and should be a lot more fun than that!

With today’s technological advancements, people can take decent quality videos with a cheap digital camera (or even with a phone that has a built-in camera), as well as edit those videos with their home computers.

Encourage your students to make a video for their presentations. This is a good group activity and it is particularly good for the last few days of the course because they will have time to prepare a good presentation, and because it is a good way for them to remember your lessons and the contributions of their fellow students. Not only is it a lot of fun for the students to utilize their creative skills and see and hear others in action, but they will also be amazed to see how much their English has improved during your course!

You can also encourage your students to present a play or write a song. Try to provide them with as many alternatives for creative linguistic expression as is possible within the parameters of the class.
