Visit Costa Rica - 7 Reasons to Make it Your Next Tropical Holiday Destination
By:Patti Spence

Why visit Costa Rica? Here are my top 7 reasons to make it your next tropical holiday destination.

The weather is warm year-round. For those who have to endure the cold, snow, and ice in the winter, warm weather is a good incentive. There are several different climatic zones, giving you a choice of warmer or cooler weather.
Costa Rica has recreation for everyone: surfing, shopping, birding, hiking, zip lining, fishing, diving, swimming, snorkeling and sightseeing are just a sample of the many activities available.
The people are friendly and welcome visitors. Many Costa Ricans speak English and are glad to answer your questions and help you have a good time. Not only do they love to practice their English, their economy depends on the income and jobs visitors provide.
It has diverse natural beauty. Expect to see gorgeous beaches with spectacular sunsets, misty rain forests, and lush country vistas of valleys and mountains. Visit a variety of national parks and quaint villages . For a country that small, it offers an unexpected wealth of natural attractions.
The frequent airfare sales to San Jose or Liberia make flying there a surprisingly economical option. Inside the country proper, the public transportation is efficient and inexpensive. Traveling on a Costa Rican bus is a terrific way to observe the people and country first hand. The buses stop for meals and breaks, making a long trip more enjoyable.
The local cuisine is conducive to good health. An abundant variety of fresh fruit is widely available and inexpensive. Most restaurants offer a choice of fresh fruit smoothies on their menu. Breakfast usually includes a fruit plate of papaya, watermelon, pineapple and banana, along with the typical "gallo pinto" (rice and beans). Rice and beans are the national food as it were, and are generally available at every meal. Due to the extensive coast line, you can enjoy fresh fish in many locations as well.
Costa Rica is known for its coffee plantations and fine tasting coffee. Not only is it tasty to enjoy the coffee while you are there, but the coffee lovers among your family and friends will be grateful if you save room in your luggage to bring some home.

We took our first trip to Costa Rica three years ago and had such a great time, we have already been back five times. If you have never been there, I am sure these 7 reasons will encourage you to make it your next tropical holiday destination.
