Thank you for your comments about Mexican Doctors, Lance. Your are absolutely right and hit the main point: Mexican doctors really care about their patients. They even consider them their friends and worry about their health. My husband is a navy retiree and because of that we have free (or almost free) medical insurance for life in the US. So he an I can go to any of our doctors in the US anytime and only pay a few dollars each time. The thing is that my husband has been in blood pressure medicine for over teen years and now is developing cardiac insufficiency as a result of the blood pressure medicine along with the problems associated with poor circulation to the extremities and the rest of the body, also caused by the blood pressure medicine. He also has prostate enlargement and is taking another pill for that so he can have a better flow when he urinates. He has been developing knee and hand arthritis among other health problems.
Yesterday, I finally convinced him after years to go see a Mexican doctor in Guadalajara, Jalisco. This doctor spent over an hour with him and I (I was the translator) listening to my husband's medical problems , and kept asking my husband and I if there was anything else that we wanted to say or if we had more questions. My husband told him personal things about his life that I have never heard him saying to anybody, not even to our marriage counselors in California. At the end of the consultation, the doctor had the nurse take blood samples and the analysis results will be back the next day and for that he only charged 500 pesos (less than 50 dollars).
