By:surtrek.com

It is to inform you that about 7% of the earth’s surface is covered with tropical rainforests. Furthermore, these rainforests actually host about 50% of the planet’s biodiversity. Some of these rich rainforests are found in Africa, Asia, and Central America. However, the largest of all are located in the Amazon River region of South America. Being the largest among all available ones, The South American rainforests are considered as the densest rainforest in the world.

Ecuador's "Oriente"
Occupying the most significant portion of the South American rainforest, Ecuador’s Oriente holds a special place in the bio-diversity map of the globe. In fact, most of the eastern half of Ecuador is jungle and some of the best known rivers flow through this region and contributing their share into the Amazon River. That is why, the Amazon River Basin is considered as one of the four distinct geographic regions of Ecuador. Fondly, it is known by the name "Oriente."

Ecuador is best known as one of the smallest countries in the Americas but the nature has bestowed the bets of its wealth on this very small country. If considering the country on the biodiversity area, it ranks the number one in the world.
