Lima is the capital in Peru, and every year many travelers pass through this big city. With over 10 million people in the entire city, Lima can truly be defined as a big city and it has a lot to offer. But why should you go to a big city, full of pollution, people, traffic and buildings? I'll give you a couple of reasons why you should not just pass through Lima, but at least stop for a few days and check out the city.

Not just one city
When you get around and see the different parts of Lima, you realize that the face of Lima is really different. From the business- and tourist-look of Miraflores, the bohemian look of Barranco to the poor streets of Callao and Pachacutec, you will soon realize that Lima has a lot to offer. Every area has a special feel to it, and every area feels different.

Buzzing nightlife
One thing that Lima really can offer travelers, especially young people who a looking to party, is the buzzing nightlife. There is so many different discos, bars and pubs that you can literally spend weeks if not months, just to visit a fraction of them. But be careful if you venture out to the nightlife of Lima, as many of the popular discos for travelers are full of "Bricheras", the women looking for a "bridge" to another country. The best places for travelers who want to experience Lima is either the streets of Barranco, where you will find a lot of different discos and bars, or in the district of Miraflores. In Miraflores you can go to places like the popular shopping-center Larcomar or the true gringo-street called "Calle de las pizzas" (Pizza Street) because of the numbers of pizza restaurants on the street. Most of the best places in Miraflores is located around the popular Parque Kennedy.
