Sounds like you will have a wonderful retirement and will be living in a beautiful city. Don't believe the HSBC marketing - its not like having a local bank account when you have an HSBC account - you wont have access to your money as if it were a local account but you will be charged 3% of every ATM withdrawal by mastercard or visa to get your money. HSBC wont charge you an additional ATM if you use their ATMs - but they still rely on these third party providers to do international transactions even within their own banks - their marketing is a bit misleading - I was disappointed too...
