Brazil Vacations: Where to Visit
By:Henry Arnault

Brazil is the largest country in South America, and it can be hard to decide where to visit. Everyone knows about the coastal cities and Rio de Janeiro, famous for its massive annual Carnival celebration. But Brazil has much to offer. If you're trying to decide where you want to go during your Brazil vacation, read this short summary of top Brazil tour destination to help you choose.

Brasilia: Surprise! This is the capital of Brazil, not Rio de Janeiro, as many people think. The capital city of Brazil is hidden away in the heart of the country, far from the coast. It became the capital in 1960 when former president Kebitchek decided to create a modern, sophisticated capital in the middle of the country.

Rio de Janeiro: Rio is the home of the Carnival, and is a lively city, to say the least. This cosmopolitan madhouse sits beautifully along the coast lined with white beaches. On topical mountain edges and with the massive statue or Christ the Redeemer overlooking the city, this is a fabulously interesting place to visit.

Sao Paulo: This is another massive city in Brazil, in fact, it is Brazil's largest city. It is the commercial center of the country and is full of impressive skyscrapers. This is where you can visit some of the hippest clubs, nightclubs, dance clubs, and bars in Brazil.

Manaus: if you want to journey deep into the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, which makes up a large portion of the country, then you need to make sure Manaus is on the itinerary for your Brazil vacation package. This city in northwest Brazil is the capital of the Amazonas State is sits close to where the Rio Negro River meets to Solimoes to form the Amazon River. It is interesting to see the black and yellow river mix together here. In fact, seeing the Amazon River and the massive number of boats that navigate in this area is impressive in itself.

Pantanal: This is a marshy region that extends through parts of Brazil as well as parts of eastern Paraguay and Bolivia. It is believed to be one of the most biologically rich places in the entire world. This is a great place for adventure travelers to visit during their Brazil vacation, because one is likely to see tons of unique wildlife, and because there is not much infrastructure, just getting there and away is a challenge in itself.
