*Francisco Ramirez Medina is the only President Puerto Rico had. He was temporarily declared as president of the "Republic of Puerto Rico" on September 28, 1868 until the Spanish Colonial Government ended the revolt.

*The country was initially christened as "San Juan Bautista" or St. John the Baptist which also held Puerto Rico as its capital. Years after, the name of the island and capital were exchanged and Puerto Rico became the name of the island and San Juan Bautista became the name of the capital.

*Ramon Lopez Irizarry was a professor of agricultural sciences at the University of Puerto Rico. He was given grant by the government to assist in the development of local industries. He was set to look for an easier way to extract the cream from coconut pulps which is an important ingredient in Puerto Rican desserts. After finding a way to extract the cream from the pulp, he developed the formula of Coco Lopez which was later became the basis for Piña Colada.
