How to Learn French Quick & Easy
By:Marie Jones

French is spoken worldwide and is the official language of 28 countries. Many students choose to learn French as a second language for personal growth, while others learn French for job benefits. It is especially beneficial to speak French if you plan to study or travel abroad, as fluency ensures you will not need a translator on your journeys. There are several options for quickly and easily learning French, but you must dedicate time each day to study, memorize and review the language to keep it fresh in your mind.

Take a French class at a local college or with a private tutor. French classes are designed to quickly teach you the basic grammar and sentence structure of French, as well as conversation basics. A group class offers you the opportunity to practice speaking French with a group of students learning at the same pace, while a private tutor gives you the chance to have intense, one-on-one conversation with a fluent speaker.

Listen to French media. Purchase language CDs or download podcasts with French lessons. Listen to them regularly. Frequent review of the sounds and structure of French will reinforce the language constantly and improve your memorization skills and understanding of the language. Repeat the words and sentences you hear out loud to practice your speaking skills.

Review flashcards daily. Purchase, make or download French flashcards. Read the word out loud several times and try to remember the definition. Then, review the definitions of the words and try to remember which word fits the definition. If you choose to make physical flashcards, carry them with you so you can review while waiting in line, while riding the bus or on your lunch break.

Study online French lessons. Many websites offer free French lessons and vocabulary lists to assist you in quick mastery of the French language. Dedicate at least an hour each day to reviewing French online. Allow yourself plenty of time to review areas you find difficult to understand.
