Fast Language Learning - 3 Simple Steps
By:Zack De Raad

Many people today are becoming very frustrated with language learning. Mainly because of the time it requires from you, and the level of difficulty.

The reason for this isn't because the language itself is too hard, but because your not learning the way you should be. There are three things that are essential for fast language learning.

1. Smart Listening

Smart listening is a term I use that refers to listening to a language, with an intention to learn. A lot of people listen to music, or videos in the language they're learning, but forget the most important part.

You must actually think about what they're saying, and ask yourself if it makes sense to you. You can do this with music, movies, news, or anything really. Do this as much as possible, and you will definitely start to notice results.

2. Don't Stop Talking

Talking in the language your learning is almost as important as listening to it. That's how you learned your first language. You heard other people speaking it, and you spoke based of what you heard. It works the same way for learning a second language.

Talking to yourself, or someone else for even fifteen minutes a day will help you tremendously. You will find yourself speaking more comfortably, and you will progress at a much faster pace.

3. Consistency

For the fastest results, you need to be hearing, speaking, and immersing yourself in the language as much as possible.
I don't recommend working really hard for one week, then barely do anything the next. Make it even, and consistent. That doesn't mean you have to make it boring, but you need to make a reasonable commitment of your time.

If your a laid back person, that's fine, just take advantage of your time. Instead of listening to your usual music, listen to some in the language your learning. If you make it a chore, or "work", your going to have a harder time and struggle more.

If you happen to have a busy schedule or work a lot, work on trying to plan your time around it. Make a goal to get at least thirty minutes of listening, and/or talking in the language per day.
