In Response To: Language: This is just a sampling of simple drinking toasts from around the world (Heather Moffat)
The toast "chin chin" is becoming very popular. It is used in Spain and in Chile, in addition to the "Salud" toast. The meaning is in English "cheers" (Salud meaning health). In Italian, the translations are identical. Interestingly, I found the word "chinchin" in Cassell's Spanish Dictionary,1966 edition. In Italian, it is of course spelled "cincin".
