How to Visit the Islands of Korea
By:Collaborator

Korea’s islands are one of the travel world’s best-kept secrets. These volcanic islands offer a wide variety of outdoor activities like hiking and biking, while maintaining a romantic aura that's perfect for newlyweds. Top it all off with a similar climate to the Hawaiian islands, and you have a must-visit location next time you are in Asia.

Visit Jeju, also known as the “Island of the Gods.” This island, at least in climate, is considered to be the most like Hawaii. With mild temperatures and lush, volcanic vegetation, it is a magnet for lovers of hiking, biking and botany.

Take a romantic getaway to Cheju Island, known as "Honeymoon Island." Here the extensive number of hotels cater to lovebirds with full access to white-sand beaches and tropical rainforests full of waterfalls. Book early, as wedding season (autumn and spring) tend fill up every room far in advance.

Relax in the peaceful serenity of Korea’s Nami Island, known for its abundance of trees and other vegetation. Wander the island on foot on one of its countless nature paths.

Ride the high seas as you take part in Hongdo Island’s most famous attraction, the Hongdo Ferry Cruise. This cruise gives hundreds of visitors per week an up-close look at the island’s famous sea life and natural volcanic structures.

Stop and smell the sweetness on Amayeondo Island. This island’s Spring Flower Festival (usually held in April or May) offers visitors a chance to see over 100,000 blooms from local plant and flower life. The beach is decorated for the occasion.
