TIS implements the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP). The IBPYP & IBMYP are trans-disciplinary curriculums, which draw individual disciplines together into a coherent whole, with a focus on the inter-connectedness of academic disciplines.

These Programmes include a student learner profile (hyperlink to text box). We focus on human characteristics, promote a connection with the local community and develop internationally minded thinkers as we take students through our full circles of inquiry.

In the inquiry approach to learning, students are asked what they already know about their unit of inquiry. Students share what they would like to learn with the unit. They discover answers to their questions through various methods of research, summarize their findings, and present what they have learned to others. The academic standards that are not integrated through the students' and teachers' questions are isolated in other lessons. To add 'academic rigor' to this process our team of teachers includes many specialist educators to work the students.

TIS has developed a unique Program of Inquiry (POI) which supports the IBPYP & IBMYP programmes. We ensure a continuum of learning from preschool through middle school reflecting the broad learning contexts appropriate for this school and its dynamic environment.
