The Canadian Curriculum, a world leading Education is offered at CIS.

CIS strives to develop the best ability in each student, and prepares students for the post secondary education overseas with a world recognized and accepted Ontario Secondary School Diploma (grade 12) of Canada. Columbia International School, founded in 1988 in Hibarigaoka, Tokyo, is an English speaking school. In 1998, Columbia International School moved to a new campus in Tokorozawa, Saitama. The campus has two buildings and two playing fields. The main building (built in 1998) houses 10 classrooms, a science lab, a health room, a library, a cafeteria, offices, and a guidance room. The Library Resource Center currently offers a selection of more than 4000 fiction and non-fiction books. The school subscribes to several magazines suitable for the age range, interests and English ability of students. A new building (built in 2000) houses 3 classrooms, 2 multipurpose-rooms, a computer lab, a gymnasium, boys and girls changing rooms, shower rooms, and offices.
The computer labs contain twenty computers networked to the World Wide Web. Furthermore, all junior high school and high school students are required to purchase laptop computers that are extensively used within the regular curriculum. A wireless LAN system is installed in the school, which allows all students unlimited access to the Internet from anywhere within the school property, using his/her own personal computer.
