Fundación En Vía is a non-profit organization working with indigenous communities in Oaxaca, Mexico. En Vía works to strengthen communities through interest-free microlending, education, and sustainable tourism. We began working with communities in Oaxaca in 2008 and were formally founded in 2010.

En Vía’s no-interest loans, generated from our microfinance tours, ensure that our borrowers have a more viable option than commercial banks, which lend at an average interest rate of 70% in Mexico. Our borrowers are then able to leverage their loans to have a real impact on their small businesses, their lives and ultimately the entire community.

While microlending can be incredibly effective in helping people escape poverty, it is not a solution in itself. Rather, it is most successful when provided alongside educational and community programs. For this reason, we added an educational component to our organization in 2010.

With our team of dedicated volunteers, we offer a variety of educational programs such as English and Internet classes, as well as various business classes in the local communities of Oaxaca. Learn more at www.envia.org

English Teacher
Requirement: Minimum 2 days/week for 4 weeks (flexible)
Times/Places:
Tlacochahuaya: Mondays and Wednesdays – 4:00-6:00 + travel time
Teotitlán: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4:00-6:00 +Plus travel time

Position: Teaching English to women, children, and men. No experience necessary, just desire to teach, and fluency in English.
