Join our dedicated team of four teachers in our newly opened school in Semarang.

We specialize in teaching all levels of students, from early elementary to teens, from young adults to business professionals. You will be supported with EF English First courses geared specifically towards each age group and regular teacher training workshops with an emphasis on continued professional development.

Responsibilities
Planning and delivering lessons to both adults and children from 4 years old, in both one-on-one sessions and group workshops of up to 14 students.
Using electronic media and EF-developed courseware to teach English efficiently and effectively
Evaluating student progress and providing ongoing guidance for improvement
Maintaining regular office hours
Testing and placing new students in appropriate courses

Qualifications
A genuine interest in teaching, education and developing yourself
Open-mindedness, an adventurous spirit, and flexibility
Bachelor's degree
Native English speaker
Passport issued by the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia or New Zealand
TEFL/CELTA Certificate

Introducing Semarang
Semarang lies in the northern part of Central Java. It is a bustling mid-sized city with a population of 1.5 million. A hub for business throughout the region, Semarang has great transport connections with Ahmad Yani airport offering flights throughout the archipelago (Jakarta is an hour away and Bali 90 minutes), and frequent international flights.

Although predominantly a business city, Semarang has seen a rise in tourism over recent years and there are many hidden gems in and around the city. Visit the ornate temple of Sam Poo Kong and hunt for more temples while enjoying the weekend night market of Semawis; go jungle trekking and waterfall hunting on Mt. Ungaran; marvel at the charm of the old city and its Duch colonial architecture; try ghost-spotting in Lawang Sewu; enjoy all the street food Java has to offer every night of the week in Simpang Lima; visit the 9th century temple complex of Gedung Songo amid the hills of Bandungan and take a dip in the freshwater pools of Umbul Sidomukti to cool off. For the less adventurous, there are plenty of restaurants, swimming pools, malls and cinemas in and around the heart of the city to keep you entertained in your free time.

The cost of living in Semarang is quite low for a city of its size and transportation is extremely cheap, by Western standards, affording you the chance to explore more of Indonesia during weekends and holidays. The cities of Solo and Yogyakarta are short bus rides away, the perfect distance for a quick city break immersing yourself in gamelan and batik. If beaches are your thing, the regular boat to the beautiful islands of Karimun Jawa is a must, perfect for a desert island weekend retreat. Around two hours away is Jepara, a draw for its long, sandy beaches and famous for its wood-carving craftsmen. A trip to Indonesia without visiting Bali is insanity for most people, and with 15 days paid annual leave in addition to many more paid public holidays, Bali is but a short flight away.
