Make sure they don't pay you in local currency. If they pay you in Turkish Lire, you'll end up receiving half or even less the money(when you exchange) you are offered.Their currency is getting weaker every minute !

I doubt you can get by on $200 a month in Turkey. I couldn't and I lived fairly cheaply in those days- and that was nearly three years ago and inflation in Turkey is rampant.

Working in Turkey

I have been offered at ESL job in Turkey. Pay US$900 per month including free accommodation. I have been told that would nett US$700 per month after tax and insurance. Do I have to have local insurance when I have travel insurance for 12 months from Australia. Has anyone any info on working in Turkey and whether that salary is sufficient not only to do some travelling but also save some. My return fare is also included. Thanks.
