Dear Vesela, I was checking some info about Yakup and that's how I came upon your msg. I have a feeling you're a Bulgarian, and I think I can help you for jobs and you name it. I've been here for 2 years and have some good and bad experience.

Teaching in China has provided me with equal job opportunities and challenges for career growth and development while working in a dynamic, exciting, and fast-growing City of Shijiazhuang. I have been employed as an ESL teacher for one and a half years in this city. In that span of time, I have enjoyed visiting places around China during my free time. Chinese people treated me so well and their hospitality is far beyond compare..

If you are looking for a teaching job in China, I highly recommend Mr. Dou Song Lin and visit his website at www.teachinChina.cn. His office has been providing a thorough assistance to the foreign teachers most especially to those who work here for the first time.

Re: Is Yakup International legit?

Hi,

Yakup is a number one lier in whole China. He acts as a perfect religious man infront of others. He tries to fools every one. He purchased a Phd degree from London. He speaks some broken English and lives among Chinese people who do not speak English. He tells every one that he is a doctor(Phd) from London! Please avoid that ##, bloody man. If you wat to work in China, try some other good agents.

You can contact schools directly or use an agency that holds proper certification from Beijing to officially invite teachers to China. Not all agencies are approved and there is a difference between register and non-register agencies. We are approved, proven, and located in CHina, not in the USA or Canada. We would be happy to assist you if you think the help is needed.

What are the alternative recruitment agencies?

Thank you all so much for the replies.

Can you recommend other recruiters?

I know many of you would say that I should contact the schools directly, but I am a non-native speaker.

I have tried for five months to contact the schools directly, but the only replies I got so far were "Sorry, your qualifications are great, but the school headmaster wants white native speakers." I am getting depressed.

I really want to get an English teaching job in China, and perhaps the only way to get it is to go through a recruiter who does not have to be perfect but can get the "job" done (get me hired).

I have noticed that although Yakup has lied to teachers about the real working conditions, it has managed all the same to place the teachers somewhere in China.

What shall I do?

Yakup legit - ha that's a laugh - I don't mean to be sarcastic, but Yakup is a liar and cheat. He not only lies to prospective teachers but also to the schools.
I have been in China two years and was originally recruited by Yakup. I also know of 5 others recruited by him and all have the same story. He never does what he says he will do, everyone is his best friend in the whole world, and his staff are generally non existent people.
The contract he may show you will have nothing to do with your school either.

Be careful as the shifty weasel has another company called China Talents as well.
If at all possible stay clear of him - he can get you work, but it may be in a backwater village.

Forewarned is forearmed
