You may be right, but some of the white male teachers are friendly too, like me for example. I don't work in China, but in Mexico, and although some local people say the majority of English teachers are very arrogant and don't mix with Mexicans this is usually because they can't speak the language and are scared by unfamiliar cultures.

If you are going to teach in another country I think you should have the decency to learn some of the local language and to meet local people, not just your boss/coworkers and students.
