Re From SA to Vietnam Trump Sells Weapons

The Vietnamese will aqquire more weapons if they think the Chinese are a threat. The USA weapons manufacturers will supply those weapons as there is big money in it.

It's pure supply and demand, and it will help to contain China on top of that.

Re: From SA to Vietnam Trump Sells Weapons

I hate to disagree with you but those farce leaders that you have mentioned do not seem to bode with Trump who has a lot more choices than them. The Commander in Chief has got just about everything one may need to continue the legacy; however, he stunningly chooses to give it up in exchange for his personal ego. On the other hand, Putin has the NATO knocking at his doorsteps and economy in a shithole, Lenin's had scores of hungry Russians staring at their wealthy Czar's palace and at Alaska sold for a few million dollars to the US, and then Stalin's had Hitler pointing guns at him. What I see in the actions of Trump, in the case of Asia (VietNam), is the arrogance, little knowledge of politics and history and the inability to resist his emotions which all is extremely dangerous for all of us. The current American president's background suggests that he not only comes from the region where Hitler was from but he also is of similar character as the horrific Nazi leader who sustained his supporters while pulverized his opponents was.

That percentage of support for Trump may have included some Russians too:) The few Americans that have put/kept the man in power are mostly real estate, oil and weapons magnates. This fraction of the US population benefits from this "clown" unimaginably which was supposed to include some Saudis, Turks, Ukrainians and Russians as well.

trump's approval rating (Gallup) is at 39% this morning http://news.gallup.com/poll/201617/gallup-daily-trump-job-approval.aspx
How can 39% of the American population support this clown?????

Re From SA to Vietnam Trump Sells Weapons

I agree Trump should settle the NK issue but not with missiles and conspiracies. Holding nations hostages for their nuclear programs is not the way to keep peace on Earth, since contries freely produce nuclear energy as well as do business with each other. Just 'cause one's a dictator who's dangerous to his neighbor (South Korea) the White House should not label the state.

This, however, is beyond the point that's VietNam and its rights to parts of South China Sea which by the way has been invaded by the American navy previously. We should remember the day (a few decades ago) when Vietnamese sank an American vessle that was actually followed by the full invasion of Vietnam then. The "no brainer' offer from Trump to sell weapons to Hanoi and serve as an arbitrator in the sea disputes with China has been clearly carried out by the poor knowledge of history. Had the US navy ship stayed away from South China Sea the few decades ago, it wouldn't have been attacked by Vietnamese and that wouldn't have followed with the unfortunate war then. So, bringing American power to the region in Asia may equal to offering military assistance to Cuba from the other side of the world.

In a nutshelll, providing assistance to others with hidden agendas and reckless disregard for past is simply contemptuous, since so many lives are at stake and dangerous example(s) are to be proceeded by others.

Re: From SA to Vietnam Trump Sells Weapons

You certainly could qualify those leaders you mentioned as a "piece of shit", including Mussolini and Hitler. It's a qualification based on emotion instead of rational analysis. "The old guy" of Zimbabwe is commonly known as Mugabe (his family name). Idi Amin is a former leader of Uganda.

You mix bananas and apples, another problem. African leaders like Mugabe and Idi Amin follow the lines of tribalism in their lines of politics, which is a totally different thing and cannot be compared to what leaders like Stalin, Lenin, Hitler or Mussolini did.

To prevent such atrocities happening again, people must learn from the lessons of history. This can only be done by rational analysis in determining the factors of why such things could happen. One of those factors is power structure. All those "pieces of shit" you cared to list in your post were dictators. Folks like Trump may also pave the way for future dictators. Would you also call him a "piece of shit"?

Which country leaders, in history and now, are the equivalent to this piece of shit?

Re From SA to Vietnam Trump Sells Weapons

What you wrote makes sense to me. However, I doubt that a nation like Vietnam will be in need US missiles. Not a good deal for Vietnam. The biggest conspirator in the eastern part of Asia currently is North Korea, and Trump instead of trying to sell US weapons in the region there, he should better concentrate on settling the current problems with North Korea.

Putin for sure.
The old guy of Zimbabwe.
Idi Amin Dada.
Lenin and Stalin.
Hitler.
I don't think Mussolini and Spain's Franco qualify (they were just followers of Hitler)
Was Mao as devious and low life? Probably.

The US president wants Hanoi to buy American missiles. While the purchase would enpower the nation in talks with China on the South China Sea, it could also compromise the business and peace in the region. This may as well be the scope, since D Trump has been conspicuously absent from the Asian nations' agreements a few days ago. The actions of the current Commander in Chief prove he's the biggest conspirator of the modern era on Earth. Now, whether the Cuban missile crisis returns remains to be seen.
