I personally would vehemently stand up and speak out against any form of anti-semitism. I have a couple of (religious and non-religious) Jewish friends myself. I am interested in traditional Yiddish culture and have been to Krakow in Poland several times to follow the traces of Yiddish local culture there. However, you should be absolutely sure before accusing someone of anti-semitic overtones; in case you are doing i9t to the wrong person, it could come back to you and will hear something like "these Jews must always complain". It's time to become more relaxed in daily communcation. No, as far as I can see "shonk" does not have any anti-semitic overtones; it's only your ignorance of English Australian slang suggesting the same. Get a life!
