Re Expat, heal thyself

You are a fool and a liar and a fraud. I now know your "qualifications" are all fake. Maybe I should shout it out to a wider audience, including using your full name
and address. I'm sure your esteemed colleagues would love to kmow the truth about you.

Re Expat, heal thyself

This can happen when you face problems in a foreign land and are unable to manage solving it rationally. Some knowledge and understanding the culture of your host country and cross-cultural awareness may help. Years ago, I faced some problems with dishonest and tricky employers in China. But it did not make condemn all Chinese in general.

When you combine a disoriented and arrogant ego with an anecdotal understanding of his 'new world', you create an Ex-pat

Re Expat, heal thyself

As for the majority of Chinese taxi drivers I've gotta say I met few dishonest ones. As for Pattaya motorcycle taxi drivers I think many of them are dishonest.
They don't want to give you a price upfront in many instances.

In Nanning at Chao Yang must of the motorcycle taxi drivers knew me. They gave me discounts. So as far as taxis go I'll say China is better than Pattaya in that regard.

However, you should not toot the horn for China on here. Generally speaking the Chinese have very few or no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Expat, heal thyself

Consciousness is constructed by narratives that we 'create' and then nurture. We literally become the stories we tell our 'self'.

Living for a time in a foreign country is particularly dangerous for the construction of beliefs based on a small number of 'anecdotes', events that have occurred in our short time in a new culture. This anecdotal 'evidence' becomes our 'understanding' of that country. Two Chinese cab-drivers drove the 'long way'; ALL Chinese are crooks. I've rented three apartments in China; ALL Chinese landlords are idiots.

When you combine a disoriented and arrogant ego with an anecdotal understanding of his 'new world', you create an Ex-pat.
