Hey Ian,
It happened like this... Got mu contract signed, got the Expert cert. and work permit renewed as I was already in China...
I asked about this at the beginning of fall term and was told "not to worry about it" now we all find ourselves arguing with the school... They had planned on getting rid of us without paying the last month or so...
we notified the authorities... This time I think the pay will be there :)?? Maybe...
How can that happen? If you sign a contract (for a year) you usually sign it before you get your visa (as the visas can take a little while). The visas (assuming they are Z Class) last one year.
If you signed the contract after the visa, then you should have backdated it. I assume you looked at your contract when you signed it?
Pay attention at the back.
Got a new one!
Just found out our contrcts end 2 weeks LATER than our visas...
SO now we will have to renegotiate our final pay and if we need our recommendations we may have to give up our pay...
Welcome to China!
Also been informed this is common practice.
Watchout!
