The great days were, when the iron curtain split communist nations from the west which was a couple years before 1991. World was well balanced, it had politicians with clear scopes. People in the west and east lived their lives then which is unlike today when the confusion rises over who has more fire power or juristiction over lands and how business is supposed to be conducted around the world. Then, even though our planet seemed to have been split into east vs west, it was not as broken as today when the giant crack over middle east through Turkey, Ukraine and Baltic nations is frightening. As mother Earth turns around money, Asian market stands out versus the EU-North American one which is why politicians are burning their bridges with others. The secretive Trump-Putin structure is built on false pretenses, poor ethical standards and on the grounds to undermine the American system. One money hungry man is unaware of what the world of politics is while the other cunning one is highly experienced and extremely frustrated with the 1990 outcome. So, "the golden days" when the map showed East and West Germany were so much more clear and peaceful than today. Whether Trump's actions and his bad mouth set foundation to the new Nazi era in Germany or whether his confused generals or WH officials pull the wrong triggers remains to be worried about.
