You raise some good points. I forget to mention in the last post that some of the most expensive luxury watches have leather straps.

I'm not a fan of the leather straps like I said, to me they look old fashioned. A lot of high range luxury watches with leather straps look
completely old-fashioned to me, but then again, people who know a lot more then I do about this buy them as investments.

Some really do hold their value and even appreciate in value.

Gotta agree with you about the funeral, a flashy looking Seiko would not be appropriate. Something a lot more modest is the way to go.

There's a lot in what you say- I suppose I often prefer to be a tad old fashioned.
