Spain - Alicante
School:British School of Alicante

British School of Alicante is a educational day school which provides an excellent education for children from the age of 3 to 18 years.

School Philosophy: Our prime motivation is to provide an environment of excellence and high achievement. Our students are given access to the highest level of academic tuition, and are provided with every opportunity to develop their personal and social skills to prepare them to take their place in society as educated, thoughtful and responsible citizens.

The British School of Alicante was set up in September 2000 by the Co-operative ’Colegio Britanico de Alicante’, and opened with 100 children. This co-operative was a non-profit making group, formed by a group of parents in the Alicante area with just one goal in mind: to provide their children with the best British education possible.

The hard work and dedication of this group of parents established the school’s focus on providing the best teaching available in the area. That the school is now flourishing, with over 630 students is proof of the success of the founding ethos.

From the start, the school had very close links with Kings College of Madrid, the largest British school in Spain, with around 1300 students and over 30 years experience.King's College and the BSA worked increasingly closely together, working on the academic development of the school, and the establishment of IGCSE courses in 2002, and A Level courses in 2004.

In September 2003 the relationship was strengthened when the BSA officially became part of King's Group. The school has been now under the educational management of Kings for several years.
The BSA has established itself as the premiere provider of British education in the Alicante area, which is one of the fastest growing cities in Spain. We have already seen our first students go on to University, while recent developments at the other end or the schooll include expanding to 3 form entry in the Early Years.
