SPEAKWELL was set up in 1995 in order to provide an essential service which, at that time, was lacking in the Lisbon area. Its founders, who were already teaching English in this area, felt that the needs of many adult learners who wished to improve their spoken English were not being met, in that many of the courses available to them lacked relevancy and, as a result, failed to provide the results they were looking for.

Its main objective at the outset was to provide an interesting and relevant learning experience for students by adapting each course to the needs of each person in every group, while at the same time focussing on the fact that, for the vast majority of students, being able to communicate effectively in English was paramount.

By being flexible and innovative, SPEAKWELL has grown rapidly since then. We now offer the same customized service in various languages to a vast range of people, from multi-national companies to pupils in primary schools, in the greater Lisbon and Porto areas. Central to everything we do, though, is our commitment to quality, our professionalism and our enthusiasm for language teaching.
