We regard all children as being unique and as an organisation we are committed to personalising our curriculum so that individual learning styles and multiple intelligences are acknowledged. Similarly, we draw on the rich Norwegian heritage and culture as well as the environs of the Stavanger area to provide a platform for delivering the British National Curriculum.

As well as promoting high academic standards, assisting children to develop as well balanced, respectful, healthy citizens is considered equally important. We want all our pupils to leave the British International School of Stavanger with high levels of self-esteem, confidence and a thirst for life-long learning.

English as an Additional Language: The school is pleased to introduce its most recently established class for EAL pupils within the infant department. Groups are kept small at around 12 children from Key Stage 1 classes for 3 full mornings sessions a week. Our bright and spacious classroom is designed to promote the active learning of English through a wide range of activities. The EAL programme is designed to encourage the development of English language skills whilst simultaneously covering topics within the Key Stage 1 curriculum to enable full integration into the mainstream teaching programme.
