The Leipzig International School was founded in 1992. It is a non-profit co-educational day school for students from Pre-School (age 3-5) to Grade 12 and has the status of "genehmigte Ersatzschule". Our boarding section is open to students from age 15 onwards. The school campus is situated in a residential district in the centre of Leipzig. There are excellent playground facilities for the Primary and Secondary School, a large sports hall, well-equipped science laboratories, music and art rooms, an international library and computer centres with internet facilities available for all students and staff. Students are prepared for the IGCSE Examinations in Grade 10 ("Mittlere Reife") and the International Baccalaureat in Grades 11 and 12 ("Hochschulreife"). English is the language of instruction; ESL is provided for non-native speakers. German is taught to all students from Grade 1, French from Grade 6 upwards.
