What You Need To Know About Italy
By:Jennifer Bailey

For tourists from all over the world, Italy is an attractive destination because of its good architecture, water canals with condoles, emerging fashion trends and popular cuisine such as spaghetti and pizza. The capital city of Italy is Rome and Italian is the official language spoken here.

Situated in the Mediterranean region, Italy has, for centuries, fascinated the world. Milan is known as the “fashion capital of the world’” and is where leading designers and models showcase their talent. Anyone who wants to be a part of the international fashion scene will spend at least some time in Italy.

Italy is legendary for its favorable climate throughout the year. Blessed with a geography that has a unique combination of hills as well as beaches, it is a vacationers’ paradise. The beautiful landscape of mountains, seas, lakes, ski resorts and vineyards captivates nature lovers. Italy is a land of surprising extremes. Geographically, it is known as one of Europe's most disaster-prone countries. The country has its share of active volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, avalanches and forest fires. In spite of these conditions, holidaying in Italy can be a wonderful experience.

The geographical inhibitions have not deterred the cultural ethos of the people. The warmth of the Italians rubs off on visitors in a good way. Italy is a beautiful blend of old world charm and the new world spirit. For many years together, Italian artists and sculptors have presented the finest works of art to the world. Italian architecture has a finesse that is a result of its timeless appeal.

Every tourist visiting Italy has a different perspective of the country. For some, it is the history that is fascinating. For others, it is the landscape that is mesmerizing. Irrespective of individual tastes, Italy is a truly unique destination.
