German Food? (Germany)

I have just recovered from a long fit of laughter upon reading about how good you think German food is. Having lived in the country for some time I can attest that I don't miss much in terms of traditional German dishes.

Although the peeps in Schleswig-Holstein do make a wonderful bratwurst overall I don't miss the bland food. Meat, bread and potatoes everyday. The only food in the country with any flair was of the Turkish variety.

I do miss the fresh bread, delicious chocolate, wonderful beer (Flensberger being my fav), huge selection of cheeses, and Lowensenf hot mustard.
