OMG! Yes! I went for the first time in 1989 as a volunteer ESL teacher in Krakow at one of the local high schools for a four week intensive summer program. I fell in love. No, not with a woman...the entire country! My maternal grandparents emigrated for southeastern Poland (Austria Hungary back then). My paternal grandfather and his family emigrated from northeastern Poland (then East Prussia). I did the roots thing from both branches of my family. The students were intelligent, very motivated, and 'sympatyczny!" You will never understand Poland until you meet the people and you will make friends for life. I went back many times since then and now consider Poland my second home.
