Ten Great Places That Will Satisfy Your Denmark Holiday

Denmark is a beautiful country that is located in Northern Europe. It was once the home of the famous Viking raiders, fierce people that used to conquer lands, but it is now a modern country that is prosperous and, at the same time, retained its old charm. If you want to maximize your Denmark holiday, then these are the ten places that you should definitely visit.

1.) Amalienborg Palace

This serves as home to Denmark's royal family. It does not allow any tours inside the buildings, but you can admire its beautiful architecture from the outside. Even if you cannot get in, you will still enjoy the changing of the guards everyday at exactly noon.

2.) Assistant Cemetery

This is a popular tourist destination as only here can you see the resting places of many famous Danish people. This is also where Hans Christian Andersen was buried. Other famous people are Niels Bohr and Peter von Scholten, among others.

3.) BakkehusMuseum

This is a wonderful museum to visit as you can learn a lot about the history and culture of Denmark here. You will also learn about the Danish Golden Age of Literature here. This museum once served as the home of a famous Danish couple, Knud Rahbek and his wife.

4.) Barbie Doll Museum

For the child in you, this Barbie Doll Museum is a must-visit place. Not only will children love it, but it will also bring nostalgic feeling to the adults. Here, you will enjoy its vast collection of Barbie Dolls dating back to the late 1950s, but you can only visit this museum if you have made an appointment with the owner.

5.) Botanic Garden of Copenhagen

This is a beautiful botanic garden where you can take a leisurely walk with your loved ones. Here, you will enjoy a wonderful view of the park. You can also visit here the famous Palm House.

6.) Carlsberg Brewery

Who have not heard of the famous beers of Carlsberg Brewery? You can pay for a guided tour inside this brewery where you will learn about beer making. The added benefit to visiting this brewery is that you get to have a free taste of their beers.

7.) The Little Mermaid

When you are in Copenhagen, do not forget to visit the statue of the Little Mermaid. It is located near Kastellet, and it is hard to miss as it has become a famous tourist attraction. This famous statue was created by Edvard Eriksen and has a height of 3.3 feet only.

8.) Slotsholmen

For hitting many birds with one stone, visit the Slotsholmen where you will get to visit museums as well as other famous sights, all in one location. Here, you will see the Royal Danish Arsenal Museum as well as the Black Diamond. You will also see here the 12th-century Christiansborg Palace and its ruins as well as the Danish Jewel Museum.

9.) Copenhagen Zoo

A memorable experience to both adults and children alike, Copenhagen Zoo gives you an experience of your lifetime. You will get to see here the Tropical Zoo which contains crocodiles as well as tropical birds and animals or the Children's Zoo that offers fantastic activities for your young ones. This is one of the favorite tourist destinations in Denmark and boasts of about 1.3 million visitors yearly.

10.) Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek

This is a museum located in Copenhagen that is home to some wonderful collections of works of art. Here, you will find arts made during the Ancient Europe period as well as the Medieval Europe Period. You can also find modern pieces of art here.
