Paris Dining, Bars and Dancing Hot Spots (France)
By:Simon Hillier

Paris is one of the world's great cities for dining, bars and dancing. On any night of the week the hungry, thirsty or fleet-footed Paris visitor can find a venue to match their taste and mood.

If you enjoy chocolate, you may enjoy the dishes served at Jean-Paul Hévin. If your taste leans towards croissants then you may want to visit the Café Paris near the Champs-Elysees and enjoy window views of the lovely Notre-Dame while knocking out an email on your laptop...or not! Inside the Le Meriden hotel is the fabulous Shambala Restaurant serving fine meals at various hours. Neighboring the restaurant is the bar.

For a unique Parisian dining and entertainment experience, try the famous Moulin Rouge. Watch the high kicking cancan dancers in full swing over a 3-course dinner served with wine. Remember this is a jacket and tie dinner - and slowdown on the drinks pal - it's a five hour show!

Alternatively you can enjoy fine dining at Altitude 95, sitting 95 metres above sea level in a little known landmark called the Eiffel Tower. Look out the big bay windows at the wonderful lights around Paris. Breathtaking yes, romantic, not so much - unless being surrounded by 200 tourists, including children, tugs at your heart strings.

For a more romantic setting you may want to consider the Seine Cruise, which includes a selection of entertainment, meals, wine and more.

Paris has a buffet selection of excellent bars and pubs. For cocktails, live DJ, a laid back atmosphere and and a hip happening crowd, check out the Shambala inside the beautiful Le Meriden. The impressive decor includes glowing panels, shedding colors of neon lights across a hot flaming environment.

If you are searching for ballroom boogie, you may want to visit the le Divan Du Monde. This sizzling Paris hot spot is just one of the many places you can enjoy a taste of sultry Arabic music. Once the dancing feet are worn out, hobble across to the La Fourmi Café for a nightcap.

As Hemingway once said "Paris is a moveable feast."
