Trentino Alto Adige - Italy
By:Nicole Bijvoets

Trentino Alto Adige is a region in Italy with impressive mountain ranges, high passes, extensive nature reserves, authentic towns and dainty villages, even different languages, old trade farms, festivities in traditional costume, medieval castles and a a rich tradition of fables and legends. Trentino Alto Adige has it all.

Trentino Alto Adige is one of the northerly regions of Italy. It is a mountainous region with magnificent natural attributes, a wonderful climate and very hospitable locals. It is a well-kept secret. It is a true paradise for everyone with a love for nature, gastronomy, hiking and winter and outdoor sports. In every season, winter, spring, summer and autumn, there are so many options for activities, that it is difficult to choose. Guided hiking tours, mountain biking, mountain climbing, canoeing, rafting, swimming, golfing, horseback riding, skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. This, and more, is all possible. In addition to this, the region is well-known for its tradition in health resorts and spas.

The towns in this region are usually not very big and are often built in the traditional Austrian Style, with a lot of woodwork. Towns such as Trento and Bolzano, Bressanone, Vipiteno, Brunico and Merano are definitely worth a visit. Trentino Alto Adige is a beautiful region where nature shows its glory. The Alps are a mystic beauty and are very quiet in the higher altitudes. Every mountain lover has to come here at one time in their lives, it is certainly worth the journey!
