This role involved writing and maintaining test scripts that are written in TCL. These test scripts
are used to run regressions on various server side software images on various routers in a lab.
These lab routers are configured to emulate real world networks. Cross-platform development
was a major part of this position as Unix/Linux and Windows were used extensively. Bash shell
scripting was used to run the regressions and to make/build the various components of the
programs. Extracting and sending data to the various Cisco routers in the lab was an integral
part of the job and as such firmware programming techniques were used as well as pure
software techniques. In depth analysis of IP packet data structures and byte code was also a
significant part of the role. An international defect tracking system was used within the
company on a daily basis and code reviews and meetings were also carried out frequently.

platform that was configured to interact with various National Instrument (NI) test equipment via
a customized RS232 transfer protocol. The crystal oscillators to be tested were to be set to
military specifications and therefore were placed in a test oven and heated to various different
temperatures and the resultant frequencies of their oscillation were logged via an NI frequency
tester and a graph plotted via my software on the LabWindows/CVI platform.
