I'm a very experienced American teacher with an MBA who has taught ESL, Economics and Business courses from A Level to University, and IELTS exam preparation in China and Southeast Asia. I'm interested in a position teaching Economics or Business courses in a high school or university, preferably in southeastern China. September 2009 – September 2010: Hanoi Banking Academy, Hanoi, Vietnam. I taught a one-year foundation English course for students who will attend the Academy with all courses taught in English. Most of the students will spend one year at Sunderland University in England as part of the program. I taught reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a format similar to IELTS preparation. The teachers are selected and the standards, curricula and examinations are set by the Tyndale Group of Singapore.

March 2009 – September 2009: Teacher at Primary 4 and 5 level, International Language and Business Centre, Yangon, Myanmar. This is an international school. I Taught mostly English, but some History and Geography.

September 1, 2008 – January 15, 2009: Corporate English Trainer at Wei Chai Power Company, Weifang, Shandong Province, China. Taught Business English mostly to Engineers.

May 12 – July 15, 2008: Teacher of Oral English at the Shifanfuxiao Primary School, Huludao, Liaoning Province, China. I replaced a teacher who had to return to Canada due to an illness in the family. Student’s age range is seven to 10 years.

October 2007 – April, 2007: Teacher of Oral English at Ying Ying School of Language, Han Dan, Hebei Province, China. My students were at the beginner and pre-intermediate levels: Strong emphasis on pronunciation, word stress in sentences, and intonation: Average class size of about 15 students.

March, 2007 – August, 2007: Teacher of business courses, pre-intermediate English, and IELTS preparation at the Beijing Oz Language Training College. Primary duties included preparing students for university study in Australia.

July, 2006 – January, 2007: Full time, temporary teacher at Wall St. English and Dell English, both English training schools primarily for adults. The schools are both located in the Haidian District of Beijing, China: Taught in small groups and in classrooms: Taught some Business English courses.

February, 2006 – May, 2006: Taught one semester as Instructor of Corporate Strategy at The School of Continuing Education, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Students received graduate credit for the course which they would apply toward an MBA degree from a university in an English speaking country. I commuted to Beijing one day per week from Qinhuangdao, where I was teaching Oral English.

September, 2005 – July, 2006: Oral English teacher at E&A College, Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, China. Classroom teacher with 25 hours per week, with class sizes of about 30 students. Emphasis was primarily on listening and speaking skills.
