Currently teaching in a camp style environment, I am one of the homeroom teachers
for the class party planner. My duties include teaching elementary students the role of a party planner as well as creating activities for them to role play as if that was their profession. I also teach seven year olds once a week. My responsibility is to teach them English through activities. Each month is a different theme and I am
responsible for art and science projects based on theme.

I taught general English to freshman and sophomore students. This consisted mainly of listening and speaking courses but also included two semesters of TOEIC preparation classes as well. I prepared individualized lessons based on the curriculum provided for assistant English professors. I attended professional development workshops that were provided by the university in order to share and receive teaching tips to improve classroom lessons. I participated in a new team teaching program where Korean and Foreign faculty collaborated and taught together in the same classroom.

My assignments were to teach young learners English. Their age ranged from 3-11. During my time at Kid Castle, I taught the alphabet and simple vocabulary through song and games. Students learned how to form basic sentences in English. I administered a weekly recruiting demo class, level tested new students and prepared lesson plans in our lesson notebooks shared with partner teachers.

Here my job entailed teaching core English skills to kindergarten and elementary students. Each teacher in the PIK level had one special course to teach and my course was arts and crafts. I did cooking class one a month with the students. I conducted weekly spelling exams and journal writings. I also had to assess the class behavior and academic progress at the end of each week and send home a report for the kindergarten students. Progress reports were sent every three months for elementary students.

This academy was for students who had lived or travelled abroad. My duties were to teach speaking, writing, reading and grammar to elementary-middle school students. I also had the privilege of interviewing and level testing new students. My lesson plans were created based on texts ordered by the owner/director.
