Work History………………………………………………………………………

Freight Forwarding Agent
Samphire Cargo – Dover, United Kingdom Oct 2014 – Feb 2017
• My main responsibility for the company was to create the correct export documents for multiple clients wishing to export their customers’ goods all through the EU and beyond. I would ensure that the cargo was correctly manifested, all accounted for and ready to be shipped to its desired location before writing out all the necessary paperwork. When there was very little work to be done in exports, I was always ready to lend my service to the import department when they needed extra help.
• A lot of my time was spent speaking with clients over the phone to confirm trailer details, loading times, customer information, general enquiries and all round company relations chat. I coordinated communication between ourselves and our clients to create an effective and relaxed working environment.
• Half of the export documents I would create would have an Excel spreadsheet document transferred into for large jobs. I have gained lots of valuable experience in Microsoft programs
• When I was not at my desk I would be searching for various files in our office or in our container unit, sorting through information that could have been stored away for up to six years.
• I would also spend lots of time driving paperwork to the docks and running errands around town for my employer and our clients.

Information Distributor
Travelspot – Dover, United Kingdom Oct 2012 – Aug 2013
• My top priority in this line of work was to provide all the travellers and holiday makers with information about our company’s range of driving products needed under European driving law. I would walk from car to car handing people an information booklet of all safety procedures and accessories they could purchase on board their imminent ferry crossing to France.
• I would also provide information regarding departure times, directions or general enquiries to UK visitors from around the world.

Cognitive Media
Animation Assistant – Folkestone, United Kingdom Jul 2012 – Oct 2012

• As this work was only voluntary, my day to day work was whatever I could do on that day so I spent a lot of time doing various activities.
• I would spend lots of time applying my drawing abilities to group idea sessions, working together to think of effective ways to send a message through animation.
• In the studio, I would assist the animators by moving models for the stock animation, painting scenery, building props and assembling figures for current and future projects.
• Other duties involved running errands, working in a variety of animation programs, writing storyboards and making lots of tea and coffee.

Education………………………………………………………………………………

TEFL & TESOL Course
Ashford, United Kingdom Nov 2016

• My time spent doing my TEFL course was probably the most engaging learning experience I have ever been taught. Many hours of useful information towards practical and verbal teaching methods have been continuously reviewed and practised. This course has given me an excellent understanding on how to work with an English class of any level from beginner to experienced, how to plan an effective lesson plan for any situation, how to involve everybody learning activities, what props and text to use, how to plan my time efficiently and most importantly; how to get people speaking new, useful English every single day.

National Diploma in Art & Design: Lens Based Media
University for the Creative Arts – Canterbury, United Kingdom Sept 2010 – May 2012

• Studying at such an established Art institution allowed me to express my creative way of thinking in the form of film, photography, illustration, fashion, animation, 3D design and Fine Art.
• My two years spent at UCA gave me a great understanding of the Arts Community and Media Industry. However, it more importantly taught me crucial skills in time management, team work, public speaking, self-motivation, dependent decision making, leadership qualities and hand written assessments.

PASS, PASS, PASS

GCSE Level
Dover Grammar School for Boys – Dover, United Kingdom Sept 2005 – Jun 2010

• DGSB is a highly favourable school in our local area and one in a rapidly declining number of Grammar schools left in the UK. Teachers where interesting characters, students where well behaved and friendly. My time here was a thoroughly enjoyable and successful experience.
