Becoming fluent in a language like English is difficult. You have to focus on a number of skills--vocabulary, grammar, listening and speaking, just to name a few. It's understandable to feel overwhelmed by it all. With a few tips to study English, you'll be closer to achieving your English goals.

Study Every Day
If you want to become fluent in English, you need to set aside time each day for study. It's better to study 30 minutes every day than three hours in one day. However, you don't have to do the same activities every day. For example, you can spend one day practicing your speaking skills and the next one improving your vocabulary. Mixing it up will help prevent boredom, allowing you to maintain interest in your studies.

Study Out Loud
Speaking is one of the most difficult aspects of learning English. If you only say the words in your head, you'll find that they sound awkward when they come out of your mouth. Even if you are just doing vocabulary drills or fill-in-the-blank grammar exercises, speak these out loud. The more you speak English in your studies, the more natural it will sound when you speak in real life.

Study with Different Methods
You'll need to use a variety of different methods to help you learn better English. A textbook can help you to improve your vocabulary, but it won't help you to understand the spoken language. Spend some of your time on reading and writing, but other time on speaking and listening. You can do this with movies, books, podcasts, websites and music.

Study with Friends
You can either choose a friend who is also studying English or someone who is a native English speaker. Another person who's studying may help you to feel less self-conscious when you practice English--the other person is facing the same challenges that you are. However, if you are able to become friends with native English speakers, everyday activities become a way to study.

Study with Goals in Mind
Set goals for your language studies so that you have something that you're working toward. For example, you may want to pass an English test that helps you get into college, or proves that you can speak English for a better job position. You may want to learn to speak English better so that you can communicate with a cute girl in your town, or to feel more comfortable in your travels. Whatever your goals are, write them down and create a plan of action so that you can reach them in a timely manner.
