Choosing a tutor could be tough sometimes. There are a lot of questions coming up to one's mind. This article will help to answer all these questions.

It's clear enough every subject has its own peculiarities and only tutors and teachers know about them. Looking for a Math tutor is not the same as looking for an English/ Italian or any other language tutor.

The first thing is of course the tutor's speech. The way he or she speaks in native language is extremely important as it shows the attitude to a language in general. If a tutor claims to be qualified and have a lot of experience but speaks incorrectly his/ her native language, this would mean such tutor doesn't care about language in general.

The next thing is to watch the behaviour, politeness, intelligence. If a tutor is impolite or behaves strangely he or she will never show a good example to your child. If a tutor isn't rather intelligent in other things or doesn't know how to react cleverly to things he or she doesn't really know so this isn't your tutor.

And only after written above you should begin to consider the gender, age, experience, price and qualifications of a chosen person. When you make an appointment ask to be present at one of the lessons or to give you a trial lesson, may be just a lesson for 25 minutes, every adequate English or Italian tutor will accept it and invite you.

Gender. It doesn't really matter who will teach you or your child English or Italian. Female teachers are considered to be more traditional, but male teachers usually seem to be stricter. It's always useful to ask child's opinion or rely on your personal preferences. If a student is a teenager, may be it's better to choose a tutor of the same gender.

Age. As long as a teacher is enthusiastic. creative and interested in work he or she is doing, it doesn't really matter. English or Italian teacher if being interested in language, always watches movies, news, TV shows reads books, magazines in foreign language. You can just ask how many films in English/ Italian has he or she seen during this fortnight or how many times a week does a tutor speaks on Skype with foreign friends. These are vital facts. Any language is constantly changing and while living in foreign country watching, reading, speaking with native-speakers and travelling is the only way to be updated with the changes.

Experience. Experience can vary. School-teacher experience is completely different from home-tutor. So, while speaking to a potential tutor, ask him or her how many hours a week he or she works with private students. Private tutoring more than twenty hours a week means that if it has been done at least for several years in such a regime, so a tutor will be able to handle most situations. Also ask how a tutor will define a language level. Usually a tutor just asks a person to present himself and after the presentation can already make some conclusion about the level. If a person needs to study for an exam, so a tutor can give a short English/ Italian test. If you ask about the methods or literature a tutor uses it's better you Google or find out first what are the books and the literature, this approach will show that you are going to be a serious student.

Price. Prices can vary. Usually the price depends on the tutor's level of language and the degree. Italian tutor who has been in Italy or English tutor who has been in England or tutors who always do translations and work as interpreters charge more. The premium charged have University professors.
