When Is It Time To Quit Your Job And Go Freelance?
By:Eden Paul

Ready to go freelance? How do you know when the writing is on the wall and it is time to find a new job…this time for yourself?

1. You dread every Monday. You enjoy a great weekend and the whole idea of going to work Monday morning ruins whatever enjoyment you would have had Sunday evening.

2. You no longer feel like you “fit in” at work. Sometimes workplace dynamics can change. Sometimes this is good and sometimes not. If you are working for a company who has changed philosophies and no longer represents your values, it may be time to leave before an Enron-type scandal occurs.

3. You feel under-appreciated Do you work hard just to have your boss reap the benefits of your hard work without as much as an acknowledgment of the value of your contributions?

4. You don’t feel challenged. Has your work fell into a routine of tasks that have you feeling that you have wasted potential but there is not room to increase your responsibility or have you reached the top of the “ladder?” It may be time to spread your wings elsewhere.

5. Work is making you feel physically sick.

If the answer to any of these questions was “yes!” it may, indeed, be time to become a freelance professional and leave that job behind. It is better to save your health, your dignity and your self-worth and start out on your own, than to be a slave to an awful situation. With the great freelance opportunities out there today, there has never been a better time to say “Enough is enough” and become your own boss.
