Putting A Good Performance In Trade Shows
By:Lynne Saarte

Tradeshows provide you with an opportunity to help boost your company’s image in the marketplace if you know how to put on a good performance.

The first step towards making sure your performance is as good as it can be is to be sure you know exactly what your message is going to be. Find a central theme that will remain the same for your entire trade show. Plan this out well in advance and have it linked to whatever your general company message is.

You should not have it only be a rehash of your overall company message. Get more specific than that, something precise that you want to do. This works best if it is a subset of your overall company theme rather than just repeating what people have already heard before.

Whatever you pick, make sure that everything you bring to the show is geared towards this theme, and try to stay on topic as much as possible. The more precise your message is the easier it is to get it across and not deviate too much.

Now that your message is picked you need to look at how you are going to deliver that message to people. Poster printing is a nice addition to your preparation for a trade show, because your stand will show improvements by having some nice, large posters spread across it showing people what your message is.

This becomes particularly important in spreading your message. Make sure that your poster printing is highly focused on your theme for the tradeshow, so that as soon as a person walks up to your booth they will be able to see what your message is and understand it.

Your goal with the poster is to help start the dialogue. When someone is walking by all of those different booths they need to have something that makes them want to stop and say more to you, and that is what your posters will be able to achieve. Here is your message, and here is your conversation starter.

You might find some kinds of items to hand out that are related to your theme. This might not be practical hand outs, such as office supplies, but something a little more unique depending on what kind of message you are attempting to send. This will of course be up to you.

Now, what all of this accomplishes is a very successful tradeshow where you were able to push a very specific issue and generate interest in it. Most of these issues will best serve you if they are related to whatever you are currently working on with your company. That way you boost your image while also boosting your sales in that particular area.

Really, a focused team comes across as professional and on track for success, and what other image would you want to put forward?
