If you are reading this article then it is obvious that you are not really happy with the job you have. I am sure there are many reasons for this, but lets make one thing clear, the longer you stay in it, the more miserable you will become.

My first suggestion is this, start to figure out what you would really like to do, I don't care how crazy it is. Were not out to impress anyone, we just want to do some soul searching.

Lets say you want to be on radio, you enjoy talking with people, discussing topics of the day, trying to find solutions and intelligently discussing matters with an emphasis on fact finding and getting results.

As you are doing this you are writing everything down because really in essence you are describing your passion. When you are passionate about something you are vitally interested in it and therefore have a lot more energy. You feel more alive. Having this energy will build the right foundation so as to move into the career you love.

Next up, you need to find what is required for you to get that kind of job. Then of course you will stumble across the inevitable and that is most job applications require experience. Then your energy drops and you feel that you cannot succeed.

Now I am not here to tell you that you can, but what I can tell you is this, if you are really passionate about this kind of career you will have the drive to explain why even without experience you are right for the job.

Furthermore you do not have to start at the top. You could move into a supporting role, voluntarily or paid and at the same time keep working another job.

As mentioned earlier you will have written down, due to your soul searching, why you are passionate about it and this is going to be on your resume. You will be able to look an interviewee in the eye with passion and explain why you are the ideal candidate and how you can get results if given the chance.

As mentioned you can put risk reversal into the deal, example, pay me this now and if I get results then we can re-negotiate. All the while you will be building experience.

To conclude if you want to get out of the job you hate you have to want it bad enough and take action.
