Computerized Job Application - Tips With Online Job Search
By:Erika Ayala

In this day and age, almost everything can be done in front of a computer with a decent internet connection; shop for your groceries, clothes, talk to the people you love who are on the other side of the world, make online transactions, and search and apply for a job. Yes, it seems that applying for a job today has gotten more convenient.

But sending in your computerized job application doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll get the job easily as well. The process may be simpler, but the credentials that employers are looking for are still the same, if not more specific. If you want to increase your chances at getting hired through online application, there are a few key things that you need to remember.

First is that you are applying for a job online. I have to mention this because it seems that not a lot of people remember that they are doing so. There are differences when you apply directly and online. For instance, you can't just send a blank email when you send your resume, and it's not attractive when you just paste your resume in the body of the email. The hiring manager won't usually exert the effort of copying and pasting the content of the resume to a Word application and printing it out for you. The employment world is not as nice as you think.

You have to create a cover letter and paste it in the body of the email, and attach your resume which file name should be your name and the position you're applying for. This way it would be easier for the hiring manager to take a look at your resume, and even get a good first impression of you.

Also, don't include any hyperlinks in your resume, and this includes your email address. There hiring managers find it annoying if they are redirected to a web page upon clicking something from your resume accidentally.

These are just some of the many guidelines that you have to remember when applying for a job online. You can online for more information.
