ESL Teaching and Learning Tips
DISCIPLINE
Hello again, Dr Zack,
Just another question on behalf of myself and the other foreign and chinese-english teachers in my school.
The students are 19-21 year olds and about the worst thing they do is whisper in Chinese in class.
It can be distracting both to the teacher and the other students, however.
I currently catch their attention and indicate or say 'shhh' but it continues after a few minutes.
Is it worth responding to? Should I ignore it or take further action?
Thanks,
Rosalind
