Cheating on ESL Tests

In Response To: Using cheating to your advantage (Elephant)

Dear Elephant:

Thank you for your post on tips on how to prevent cheating on ESL Tests by students. The experience you described is a very common one faced by all ESL Teachers. You gave some very good strategies to use to prevent cheating. One way I found to prevent cheating was to always give ESL tests that use either short-answer or essay type questions. That way, either the student knows or doesn't know the material, and will not be able to copy from another student.
