Motivation

You raised some very interesting and important points to consider in helping students to learn how to motivate themselves and develop their self-esteem.
We as Instructors/Teachers need to always remember to stress to our students the intrinsic value they gain from being successful, i.e. the increase in their own self-worth and self-esteem.
